BLACK OUT POEMS
"A poet in Texas is blacking out words in order to write. Instead of starting with a blank page, Austin Kleon grabs the New York Times and a permanent marker and eliminates the words he doesn’t need. — NPR’s Morning Edition"
I wake up every morning and look to find new things to learn and new things to do or experience in different aspects of life. Today I have read about newspaper poetry in the past but the idea behind many of those were to take a newpaper and pair of scissors. To cut out different things from different articles and put them together to form a silly or serious limerick... In the mans case, Mr. Austin Kleon he takes a newpaper and permanent marker. The image to the left is one of his that is shown on his site called "Vision." Please feel free to visit his site to view more of his work!
